Front sidelight has just failed - the car has xenons and sidelights are those angel eye things.
It seems it's not just a case of popping in a two-quid bulb, but a specific unit.

Part 63127170858 on realOEM that comes in at something north of £30 :o

Anyone suggest best place to buy from? Or for quality is it BMW only?

cheers

It is possible to get the bulb out of the holder and replace the actual bulb. It involves filing / heating a point on the holder to make way for one of the lugs. There are some threads about it somewhere. I had to do it not so long ago as I couldn’t get hold of the whole unit and didn’t have luxury of time!

Another suggestion is to go for the osraam 20w bulbs instead of the candle like 10w.

I did mine years ago and not had any issues

My 330i has Xenons and had a sidelight out when I bought it, but came with a pair of LED ones. When I started trying to get to the fitting I found out why they hadn't been fitted. :(

I was quoted over £30 for a new sidelight fitting by ECP but filed the holder to align with the bayonet prongs so I could get the blown bulb out and just fit a bulb that I already had in a spare bulb set. :)
