3.5mm stereo cable from Aux port

Hi all.

I’ve tried to connect an old iPhone 4 using 2 different 3.5mm stereo cables but it doesn’t connect and the Aux option doesn’t come up on the head unit.

Thanks.

Bump. Any more ideas? Thanks.

About three years ago, I upgraded my mobile to an Alcatel job (still Android though) and found that I could no longer play music through the aux. 3.5mm socket. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the Alcatel got soaked one night, went kaput and I ended up going back to Huawei again. Music once again played throgh the aux. socket.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that some phones (including Alcatel) will not play audio if they do not detect the correct headphones / output device being connected. Don't know how that works but there could be something in it.

There is also a setting in the head unit for the Aux Input volume level as I discovered when I finally RTFM.

So if it seems very quiet that might be worth looking at.

Occams razor.. you're not getting aux showing up so your aux input is broken.. head unit out, remove old aux connection and replace with a new 20 quid unit from fruity car cables
