3.0Si has bigger calipers then 3.0?

Just looked up at some aftermarket pads and rotors for my 3.0L and i was suprised to find that there were different size rotors for the 3.0 and 3.0si. Are there any difference?

Real OEM shows different part numbers as well, but I can't tell if/how much the sizes change. The Si has more horsepower so BMW may be compensating with larger rotors.

The Alpina has more horsepower than the si but the brakes are the same as the standard 3.0's.

Interesting. Then why the different part numbers I wonder. Anyone looked at the side by side?

3.0si has 315mm rotors; 3.0i has 300mm... :D

Aside from the rotors being bigger, I think also the greaking surface is bigger... On the other hand, the 3.0i and the 2.5 have different size rotors (the 2.5i are 286mm) but share the same caliper and pads...

Interesting. Thanks!

Yep... Just FIY, if you look on RealOEM in one of the columns (I think the second) there's the notes and for the rotors there is the dimensions (diameter x thickness)
