3.0i Msport springs + Koni Sport dampers?

Has anyone run this setup?

Thoughts vs standard?

My car is almost on 90,000 miles and the dampers are probably past their best.

Would just be fun to have something adjustable so I can tinker with the setup, if they are good in this regard?


I see lots of people use Eibach springs but I'm really not keen on lowering the car.


Just had a bit of a hoon out at the weekend and wasn't so happy overall with the Z4. It worked ok in plenty of places, averagely in others, but I think whatever compromise it is set up for to be excellent at, it's something I will rarely experience considering the roads/driving style I enjoyed!

I can probably get alignment checked and stuff, but generally I feel like the dampers are just a bit pants. Springs and bump stops felt like they worked, but the energy control just seemed inconsistent from one second to the next on the lumpier roads, and even a touch hesitant on faster smoother ones. It could well just be tired components, but I don't feel like buying new OEM dampers to find it feel the same, while some good dampers with adjustment will at least allow me some options!

Are Koni sport dampers adjustable? I didn't think they were, but could easily be wrong. I'd of thought you'd be needing coilovers to have any adjustablitity, which would replace the original dampers and springs. You can adjust the ride height on them so that it isn't a low rider if that is your concern.

From what I can tell, they are adjustable.

Fronts on the top of the strut, rears have to be removed, compressed, and then the shaft rotated to adjust them.


Coil-overs would be on my list but no manufacturer seems to offer any data on the rates they choose. They almost always seem to be stiffer but the last thing I want is a stiffer car
