3.0 Z4 Coupe TYRES

Guys,

I have a 3.0L Z4 Coupe with Bridgestone Potenza run flats.
The drive is hard and a bit uncomfortable going over bumps etc but you would expect this with a stiff suspension and run flat tyres. However, that is not my main concern. The handling of this car in the wet or ''damp'', is shocking! You need to be a good driver to handle this in the wet. I have learnt not to accelerate at all in the wet when turning the wheel (going around a corner) and to accelerate very slowly in high gears!

My rear Bridegstones have only a few months thread left in them, is this the reason for the poor handling?

Please advise what tyres I should buy as my rear's are requiring replaced and I need to improve the handling. I do not drive the car in the snow etc as I bought a cheap 4x4 to get me through the winter. I live in Aberdeen...so I need to be able to drive the car in the wet.

A) Do I change my run flat tyres for another make or newer 3g Bridgetone Potenza?
B) Do I buy non run flat tyres? If so what make?
B) Do I buy a space saver, are they available and from where?

Plenty on the forum about people changing from runflats and how much it has improved the ride.

Seems like Falkens and Vredestein are popular but which to recommend probably depends on budget.

I ditched the runflats in favour of Vreds and the improvement in ride and handling is unbelievable.

I ditched mine for Falkens and it is a different car to drive now. Quieter too.

3G bridgestone Runflat are supposed to be much better - if they are available over here yet?

Michelin ZP run flats are LOADS better than the OEM Bridgestone. No tramlining, much much more confortable etc

first set were from Brst Buy Tyres delivered straight to my tyre fitter (Watling Tyres Redhill)...

second set of rears buy Watling Tyres who price matched cheapest set I could get on line.

I would imagine it is because your tyres are nearing the end of their useful life. I have the same car on the same tyres, although my rears are virtually new, have no problems in the wet or dry. Will be changing to Vredesteins in the not too distant future.
