2nd to 3rd Gear click noise

When I'm changing from 2nd to 3rd I hear a click noise. All other gears are fine, no other issues what could it be?

Possibly something in the linkage. Can you tell how "deep" the click is? Right under the shift lever? Or farther down in the transmission? How "heavy" does it sound? Like small light weight parts hitting each other? Or more substantial parts?

You could try lubricating the lever ball support by pulling up the gaiter and rubber boot. The access to the rest of the linkage is from below, after removing a reinforcing plate and heat shield. You normally need to drop the exhaust for access, but you might be able to squirt some lube up in there without doing so. But if you get that far, it may be worth getting proper access and identifying the actual culprit and replacing it. There's a number of joints and supports that could be the cause.

Doesn't sound serious, but can be quite annoying.

Thanks for the replies guys. went on a mission yesterday to try and pin point this noise. It turns out the its was my gear knob. I got one of the MM gear knobs. it was coming loose so when changing from 2nd to 3rd it was making a slight noise. Tighten all the screws up and the noise is gone. Happy days.
