296 Style Wheel Class action in US - Successful

Couldn't see that any one else had posted this... It looks like there has been a successful class action in the US against the 296 style wheels.

I wonder if it would help with any claims here in the Uk, including retrospective? At least it proves that there is/was a proven flaw with the 2009-2012 296 wheels. I assume this also suggests that there is no proven issue with post 2012 296 wheels?

I doubt this would have any impact outside the US sadly. Plus the fine print still gives BMW a way out of this if they can prove somehow that its impact related. Just like they do here in terms of out of round or buckling.

I'm certainly no lawyer, but that's not a 'win' but a settlement by both parties to avoid further action. BMW don't accept any fault, so I don't think anything is proven, but it will make it easier for US owners to get a replacement from BMW

Certainly wouldn't mean any precedent for UK and our laws are less favourable to such actions.
