hi

i seem to have found my self with 5 x 255 35 18 and only 1 x 225 40 18 in my garage (summer tyres) and im about to take my snow tires off and wondered if i can put 255 35 18 on all four wheels?

anyone done this? or anyone wanna swap a bridgestone 225 40 18 for a 255 35 28 bridgestone?

You won't have a problem with the rolling radius and speedometer differentials etc but I'm not sure if an 8'' rim is really wide enough for a tyre of that width and I wonder if you would get any rubbing :|

255's really need a 8.5 rim, I would say don't do it get yourself one 225 tyre

I wouldnt do it. As mentioned, an 8" rim is probably not wide enough. Even if they appear to fit ok, just think of the potential for sidewall flex when cornering hard etc, due to the extra width of the tyre....

Probables best with 225/40s
