225/40/18 from 3-Serie

Hi All,

I have two questions about a set of spare wheels coming from a 3-Serie:
These are 225 40 18 8J18EH2 ET34 with Michelin Alpin tires, they are obviously not original BMW wheels.

1) Can they be mounted on a Z4 E86 SE without issue?
2) As I plan to pick them up at their location, will I manage to fit the 4 wheels in the boot / on the passenger seat of the Z4 coupe?

Thank you!

Can’t help with the fitting question but I bought a set of 18 inch 108s and tyres from a guy with an E86 coupe. We met half way between his home and mine. He just managed to squeeze the wheels into his car but it was a tight fit. He travelled on his own and also used the front seat I think. Good luck with your purchase.

8j et34 should fit all round on the z4, as for fitting them in the car, two in the boot, one in passenger footwell and one on the seat I would think

They should fit your car OK - they are the same width as a normal E85/6 staggered 18" front wheel but will sit 16mm further outboard at the front. I run 8.5" wide 18" rims with ET35 so the outside edge is approx 5mm further out still and have no problems with rubbing etc.

Thanks for the info!

I may also try to fit four 17" tires that I kept from the Peugeot, this might just give me just an idea before going for a 230 miles journey to pick up the new wheels!
