2015 Mustang

Just read the review of this beast that reaches out shores in a years time. Suggested price is under 30k for the 2.3 and under 35k for the 5.0l V8, I think it will be more than that but if it does come in at that, it's a lot of car for the money. I would be very tempted to try one to see how well it drives.

Review here http://www.whatcar.com/car-news/ford/mustang/2015-ford-mustang-review/1313913

Still looks a good looking car and as much as I love a vert, the coupe does look great and I don't think the vert would look as good.

Oh and I bet the V8 sounds amazing!

Mmmmm.....Looks good, and the v8 should come as standard with rubbish residuals ( its got a massive petrol engine and it's a ford), so after 2-3 years one of these may well be on the radar.......

Big fan here...but I love Fords and my dad used to own a 5 Litre Mustang for ten years so I seem to have a soft spot for them!

Looking forward to it and it was the V8 in the mustang that got me into cars in the first place and I was only seven back in 1980 when my dad got his Mustang but it made a very lasting impression on me. :driving:

Hence why in this day and age with Turbo engines and low emissions and small capacity engines plus silly paddles instead of a gearstick makes me think fondly of the past even more :D even though I know that we have little choice in this country but to go in that direction. :(

Hoping I can get a 5.0 coupe with a nice privilege discount  highly doubt it though.

My mate sent me a few pics of the convertible in a dealership on show. It looks great, really great.

Interior is somewhat s**t looking, cheap looking plastic dash and switches from a childs toy.

Aside from that it seems like a reasonable amount of car for the money.

I agree. I think in the pictures the interior looks quite good, but the close up shots possibly a bit more plastic than you would like, but then I would like to see one for real and see what the quality was like.

I do like the aspect of having a mustang for sale over here, especially having RHD versions which fixes the major issue for me of the previous generation imports. However I just can't help but think theres just going to be loads of them in a few years the majority of which having the eco boost engine and not the rumble of the 5L V8 compared to the odd few old generation imports we see today. Although the question of would I still have one would be answered with a yes every with the lower quality plasticy interiors mustangs tend to have like most other US muscle cars. I doubt we'll see a UK varient of a chev camaro or dodge challengers/chargers.

And I've got to admit the changes that Roush have made to the styling of the mustang do look amazing.

Tbh interior material quality isn't a big deal for me. As long as it's nicely laid out. I don't mind about plastic feeling stuff. It's all about the drive for me.

Quick bump as Ford have released the prices now - £29k for the 2.3T and £33k for the V8

Want one but would prefer a Challenger. I cant see much wrong with the performance figures and 300+ bhp out of a 2.3 can't be bad!

A work colleague of mine has been tracking this for some time. Apparently the cost in the states is more like £20k?

The stats on the 2.3 are fantastic, if it can produce them its sure to be worth every penny.

Mrs B likes this a lot. 2.3 auto would do just fine :)

I love the "Ground Speed' on the speedo, tacky, but appeals to the fighter pilot in me

I've got reservations. I generally hate it when there's a series of base models that look very similar to the top spec, as it floods the market with them. It'l sell like hot cakes and they'll be absolutely everywhere which will give them rubbish residuals and zero 'exclusivity' which, sounds poncy, but is a big reason I buy a car. I hate seeing it everywhere else. I read once that a new mustang is sold every 30 seconds in the US and going over there it's obvious that it's a true stat. Absolutely everywhere.

That's not to say that interior doesn't look great. I actually perfer the muscular external cues of the previous gen - especially the shelby GT500. I might change my mind once I start to see a few beefier, limited varients hitting the market.

Actually, you make a good point. Thinking about it, it does feel like a bit of a tester, not wanting to invest too much in options until they know there's a solid market.
