Has anyone had the 2013 SatNav maps update?

Sounds like a challenge to me...lets see if I can get the dealer to throw it in FOC as part of my purchase 8)

Tell the dealer you expect the car to be fully updated, including the sat nav. good luck

Got quoted £196 for the code & £20 for the CDs by my dealer - they said that it was a job I could do myself, or pay them to do it! I find it bloody annoying that the system is locked by BMW so that they can charge the earth for the code!

Yes, upgraded to the 2013 maps when they came out in October last year. Not via the main dealer though.

You may also need to get your system software updated to be able to apply the latest maps once you have the map FSC code for your car.

I had all the system software updated and the maps updated by an independent specialist last year, they have access to the same BMW systems as the BMW main dealers, they just charge a lot less. That's one good thing the EU competition laws have given us.

For the latest upgrade to the 2013 maps, I did the upgrade myself via USB.

Probably, but you'd have to speak with the dealer to confirm it. There are quite a few software systems on the car and they can all be updated independently.

The workshop manager did warn me that when the car goes in for the security job, that the updates can take minutes or hours!
No doubt I will have some questions after the event.

does anyone know if the maps are a software update the dealer have available or if the maps come on a CD which needs to be uploaded to the car ?

I suspect they are on CD which the dealership want me to pay for, however I am going down the line of "the car needs to be fully updated before I collect"

The part number for the 2013 DVD (3X) is 65902304649. I called Sytner Birmingham today and was told they can order them for £23.20 paid up front, and will take about 3 days to arrive.

you need to use 3 16gb usb sticks one for each disc. I made an iso image of the 3 dvds then copied them to the usb sticks

2014 EU map Update is out - in comparison to the original 2012 maps in my car I have already found several amendments (German map)
