Thanks for the clarification. I know it's easy to carp on about what is a great car, but I think it's a serious omission. However confident you are in your engineering, complex electricals and mechanicals can and do fail. Even now, when I drop the roof away from home, there's a little part of me praying that all those sensors and motors keep working. :thumbsdown:

Yep, I have to admit I'm rapidly losing confidence in these cars. For their price tags, the reliability and longevity is a serious concern.

Facelift E89 is only just coming out after the summer though? I was secretly hoping they would release an M like they did last time ...

They have it's a 1.8 triple turbo :lol: :wink:

I took delivery of one of the first 35iS's in the country and you'd have thought it would/could have had problems, but nothing it was perfectly reliable and I'm surprised at all the problems others are having on here

Hi Kryton,

It's good to hear that you're having no problems and in reality, the number of problems relative to the number of cars sold is probably minute. I'm quite sure I'll continue to enjoy the car as much as I have today (the sun shone for most of the day!). Perhaps some positive karma will keep those little sensors clean 'n' working!
