OK folks, looks like Islay is certainly going to be late-Aug / early-Sept so I'll look into dates and options for a Skye trip for May/June time
I'd imagine details/route will be similar to the August 2010 trip. It'll be a 2-day, 1-nighter involving a short ferry from Mallaig-Skye in one direction only (returning via different route via Skye Bridge), and we WILL be booking the ferry in advance this time
