:?

Either a ringer or sat un registered for a long long time.

I used to see a pre facelift E46 on a facelift plate so similar situation.

Maybe somewhere there's a thread I've missed on how to re-ginger facelift models. Looks like you also need to change the bumpers as part of the mod!

It's a sub culture on the forum. Very secretive. A bit like the people who shun stubbed and keep their whip :spy:

Surely couldn't have been sitting un registered for 3 years :o

Who's going to call and give the seller a grilling? 8)

seen it before with a few cars. maybe a cancelled order that's just been sat in the compound waiting to be bought cheaply as a ''brand new'' car.

I remember in 2005 that you couldn't even order a 3.0 later in the year because of emissions legislation (EU4 coming in and the 3.0 was EU3), so there are hardly any 55 plate 3.0 Z4s let alone anything this late.

You only get a certain amount of time to register older cars and I don't think an M54 3.0 could even be registered after very early 2006 anyway, so any existing unsold cars would have to be scrapped (unlikely) or pre-registered and sold as used. Definitely something very wrong.

Backdating its all the rage 8) but seriously that is odd isnt it, could it not be an import from somewhere and when it came in it got put onto current plates?

Just checked number plate on my car check app and it comes up as black 3.0i z4 registered 01/04/08

DVLA check also quotes CO2 @ 231g/Km so this should tell you what engine it is.

2007 F/L N52 3.0Si is 217g/Km :o

I thought imports got age related plates based on year of manufacture. VIN code and/stickers on the car should confirm factory production dates.

As above or I would assume they use the registration date if available.

Would be interesting to see the build date of this one. Might be worth emailing the dealer for some pictures of the engine and the build date stamp on the nearside front strut.

Very strange indeed.
As said,it has to be either a ringer,or a very late registered pre-facelift.
As mentioned,smart-phone apps confirm it as a black 3.0i auto,reg on 1st April,2008?! very odd :|
Someones idea of an April fools back in 08...sell someone a 3year old(unreg) car, haha :P
