Hello group

Got myself a 2007 z4 3.0i roadster. After reading this forum I have decided to get rid of all the 4 run flats and replace them with non-rft. I am also going to replace the stock wheels. My tire specs are Front : 255.45R/17 and Rear : 255/40R/17. Can you pls help me with following questions;

1) Can I replace my stock tires with 18" instead of 17".
2) Since I am changing both the tires and wheels , do I need to take to to the dealership or could I do this at a reputable tire installer.
3) I am thinking of purchasing the wheels and tires at Tirerack.com (I live in Canada) and following is what I have in mid. Pls let me know if this is a good choice for wheels and tires. The color of my car is bright red with a black top.

Thanks in advance for all your help

1. Yes and you would need 225/40 18 fronts and 255/35 18 rears, assuming you get some staggered wheels.
2. If you get a wheel and tyre set from Tirerack you could fit it yourself, or take it to a garage.
3. I think I prefer the first ones.

Thanks Wondermike.
I am looking to get staggered wheels.
Do you have any suggestion for xenon lamps for the headlights.

Thanks again

A tyre fitter at my gym said if you change from run-flats to normal you need to tell your insurance company......not idea how true but it was what he was saying.

Thanks for your responses guys. I spoke to Tirerack.com and the guy mentioned that the wheel I am interested in does not come as staggered. He suggested that I buy the same size (18x8) for all the 4 wheels and use the same tire spec (225/40/18) all around. I am not sure what impact this will have on the performance. My stock spec are F : 225/45/17 and R:255/40/17. Can you pls let me know if it is ok to get the same size for all the 4 wheels.

Thanks for your help
