2006 Z4 Purge Valve

The "service engine soon" light came on in the car and the dealer said that I need to replace the "purge valve". The code was P0442 and it said "evaporative emissions small leak". The dealer can replace it for a mere $400 - about $122 for the part and then labor. There is no way it takes $280 to replace that valve. I'm sure it can be done by most anyone for the cost of the part. Has anyone replaced their purge valve? Any tips or pics?
Thanks

Well, I received the part in the mail. Looking at the engine for something that looks like what the purge valve. So far, no luck. I saw an exploded view of the emissions vent system and this purge valve is connected to the front of it, but I don't see the charcoal filter either.
I will look again tomorrow, but if anyone can tell me where to look or what to move out of the way, I would appreciate it.

it's part 3 in this link. It should be easy to find since half of it is white plastic. Thanks for any help.

Charcoal filter, eh? Try looking around the fuel filler pipe or behind the right rear tire. Just a hunch.

That will be under the boot, it's been mentioned when forum members have converted to a quad exhaust.

Thanks for the help. I managed to find a pic of the "black box" on the quad exhaust thread. I'll get under the car today and look around.
