…..”a first post should not be allowed to be a for sale ad. this dude is not joining the forum, just using it for free advertising. Maybe after signing up, making a basic introduction, there should be say a month before you can post any kind of for sale ad or link…..probably too difficult to police but I do find it irritating.
Alternatively in cases such as this there should be a fee for the advert / plug that can go towards the upkeep of the forum?”

My wife has had this car for about 12 years, it has been well looked after, but since Covid, my wife has been working from home, so very little mileage goes on the car. We have advertised the vehicle on Autotrader, but after being made aware of this forum, I shared the advert as we would like to think that the car could go to someone who will look after it and enjoy the car as much as we have done. But as I have said, we are not desperate to sell the car, so if it doesn’t sell, we will I am sure be very appreciative of the help and advice that comes from an owners forum such as this one. I have other classic vehicles, Scooters and Motorcycles and I am a member of several clubs and forums and value the feedback, advice, discussions and friendly banter, whilst also sharing my experiences. Sadly over the last 12 months, my health in particular has been an issue and this has affected my mobility. I am not looking for sympathy, it is just a situation that has meant that we have had to focus on what is best for us in the years ahead. As such, I know I will struggle with the Z4, but equally I am sure one of our grandchildren will be happy to have the car at some point in the future. I would say, whilst comments have been varied, hostility towards a new member, on the level so far saddens a long in the tooth petrol head.
