2005 z4 3.0 soft top won’t latch in fully open position

I’m working on a 2005 z4 with a soft top. Just installed 2 new cylinders and got the top back into the car and everything works perfectly but it won’t latch in the open position or stop the pump from running when it reaches the positions. It moves fine it closes fine my scan tool reads the live data correctly but whatever tells the pump it has reached that position isn’t working and that’s what I’m trying to figure out.
Any helpful answers would be great.

On the left hinge are two hall sensors; small black cubes.
The lower one, which is hard to see, tells the system when the roof is open fully. Check you haven't knocked it out of line.
there is a metal tab on the hinge that covers it when the roof is open. It should be fully in line with that.
