2005 3.0i Prefacelift Exhaust has a Facelift (Pics p.2)...

Collected them first thing this morning and set about fitting them this afternoon. Makes quite a difference IMO and the rear of the car comes back to life. However be warned they are not a straight fit and require modification to the internal clip system. :poke:

They do look good tho, opinions welcome........!!

Oh they do look much better  , how much modification did the internal clip require and what was involved?

I'm guessing for a 2.2 Z4 I'd need a different size or are they all the same?

Thats the spirit! Who needs any of this modern bulls**t tackle, when the good old hammer usually does the job everytime!

Tailpipe tips look great!

Ha ha! The devil's tool has its uses and is my weapon of choice! I expecially like the sound it makes when giving it a firm hand. If its good enough for a panel beater its good enough for me!!

Mike, not convinced about the clear centre brake light. Had one on my earlier Z4 and went back to the red which I figured looked more convincing. Think the facelift cars have the red also.

Ian, see pic below. Basically the 3.0i exhaust pipes are thicker than the 2.5si/3.0si (and 2.2i) (must be all that extra pollution it puts out!) and as such the trim wont fit over the said pipe without removing some of the internal metal clips (pictured below). There are 5 in each trim and I have removed 2. I also coated the internal pipes with exhaust putty before sliding the trim on which will also mean the trims wont be going anywhere (ever!).

Glad everyone seems to be positive about them. Personally I think they make a big difference to the car's rear and am pleased it turned out so well. They look great and for some reason have made me fall back in love with the 108s! :)

Thanks very much for that, very useful pic. Any chance you can post the link to the US site you got them from?

Sorry to be a pain in the ar..

:D

To be honest, I prefer the old tips... when clean :P

Something about the facelift ones just looks a bit cheap, probably because they are just flat ends and would fit any old car.

The pre-facelift have a slash cut that is angled with the bumper nicely, and also cut across from side to side to curve around with the bumper a little, making both pipes curve around with the bumper without being staggered. Ie, one can be set back and feel to follow on from the one next to it, while yours currently sit staggered, but having them lined up would make one look really long and stick out.

But, each to their own... :)

I'd prefer these with the angled slash (side to side) so they didn't sit staggered. I think it's that which makes me not like them, just look generic stick on types rather than Z4 specifics.
