Hello, I’ve decided to sell my Z4. It’s a 2004 3.0i manual.
Good points:
95k so not huge mileage.
Michelin pilot sport 5 tyres all round with maybe 2k miles on so all in excellent condition. Wheels are in good condition.
Roof motor in boot.
Air con works.
Always starts every time.
I have replaced the DISA valve.
Fitted cruise control with brand new cruise stalk from bmw.
Bad points:
Possible head gasket issue. Sometimes the temp gauge swings around unpredictably and sometimes the low coolant light comes on, even when the coolant level is fine. I’ve bled the cooling system, replaced most of the pipes with original bmw, replaced the expansion tank, waterpump and the thermostat but I just can’t seem to get on top of it.
Drivers side window switch is a bit temperamental. Probably not a big fix but I haven’t got round to it.
The offside wing looks to have been replaced at some point. There was nothing in the history and the previous owner didn’t know anything about it (or pretended not to anyway).
MOT til may 2026.
I want £750 for it which I don’t think is a bad price especially considering I spent £600 just on the tyres plus more on the other bits and bobs, but please bear in mind what I said about the cooling system issue.
I’m not a mechanic, just an amateur so please feel free to take a proper look at it yourself. I’ve tried to be as open as I can be, it is not a car you can just buy and drive around without some work but hopefully it is a good project for someone, or if not then should be good for spares.
The private plate will be coming off and the original plate LD04NSY will be going back on as soon as I’ve got the paperwork through from DVLA. I applied over a week ago so hopefully that will be soon.
