Hello. I'm new here but have been a Z4 owner for a few years.
I started having operation problems with the power top this past Spring and got some very valuable information on how to remove the top from the car from an individual who no longer posts on the forum that I got the information from. I decided to work on the top over this Winter and have removed the top and have it sitting on a work bench. I am planning on ordering the hydraulic unit (motor, as some call it) and would like to know how to test the top OUT of the car after I install the new hydraulic unit. I also need to have instructions on how to bleed the air out of the hydraulics.
Thanks

Connect your new pump, fill the reservoir at the top, connect 12v to the pump terminals. It will open or close depending which way you have the wires. It will draw the fluid from the reservoir, so you will need to stop, top it up and repeat until the reservoir stays 3/4 full and the pump will run much quieter. You don’t need to bleed the system.
