Gents,

as I will not drive my Z4 during winter, I would like to repaint my side skirts (if you say it like that) and front bumper. I found a simple video on how to disassemble the front bumper, but has anyone disassembled the side skirts?

I have a feeling that they are plastic and somewhat easy to remove?

Thanks

I bought some aero silll covers last yearfor my facelift.

But assuming the pre-facelifts are the same there is a nut in the front wheelarch and a cross-head screw in the floor near the rear of the car. The bottom of the cover is secured with pop-up rivets (7 or 8 I think). Pull the centres up and they should come out. The top of the cover has push-fit clips that just pull out.

It's worth haveing some spares of both types of plastic fittings handy when you refit them.

100% agree with Mr Tidy- extra clips are essential

Also when you have those off you are halfway to getting your wheel arch liners off- may as well go the whole hog and clean under them too?

Thanks for the explanation, what are those extra clips? Can I order them somewhere?

Seems to me, relatively easy job to do.
