2003 Z4 110000 soft top won’t close

My 2003 z4 soft top won’t close. I hold the close button and the motor runs, and it shows a solid red on the close button, and the top starts to close but gets 1/4 the way and stops there. The motor keeps trying as I hold the close button down but it won’t close. Please help thank you!

Hi and welcome to the forum. It sounds like all the electrics are working for it to get that far. It's possible there's not enough hydraulic pressure to get the roof beyond the 1/4 point - I'd be checking the soft top motor for water damage. There are several members here who can repair/relocate the motor depending on where you are.
Also possible there's a leak in the hydraulic lines causing a loss of pressure. Are you able to feel any seepage on the lines, or see any evidence of fluid leaks?

Thank you for the help and insight! I keep it garaged so I don’t think it’s a water issue. I live in Orange County Ca. Any suggestions who I could hit up locally. Thanks for you’re help as I’m new and learning how to navigate the forum.

Sadly it doesn't look like any of the regular roof motor guys will be of much use to you - unless one of them has a holiday in CA planned! :lol:

Anyway good luck getting it sorted.
