2003 Built in Sat Nav Upgrade

Hi all - looking for some good advice!

I have a 2003 with built in Sat Nav. I am looking to upgrade the radio system but have come across a couple of stumbling block.

To install a new single din radio isn't a problem, but doing this, I would lose the ability to control the satnav as the controls are on the radio system.

Any advice on my options?

There isn't any. Looked at it myself. Can pull it out and install a tablet instead but it's a right ballache.
The sound output is actually pretty good. I just got a grom bt3 in the back and that handles music sources, dab radio through my phone. No issues.
