We're currently in negotiations on a 2003 Z4 3.0i 6spd w/15000 miles.
I was wondering if the radio in there could play mp3 CDs? Also, can it play data CDs so I can have a CD with multiple folders? In case it matters, it has the premium audio system. :D TIA

Welcome

My 2004 will not play Data CDs and is fussy what brand i used TDK no probs burnt as an Audio CD on Nero

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the madness.....

2003 with only 15K miles. Wow...

Hope you get it. You will definitely love it....

Shoot! haha
Is there an iPod adapter for it?
I had the biggest smile when I test drove it the other day.

The DICE option is kinda confusing...
I cant figure out if I control the ipod through the factory radio or not.
What do you guys think of this unit?

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the car. Post some pics after you get it.

If you don't like the Aux input placement in the ashtray, there is an alternative.

The DICE and what you showed from Crutchfield, you only have five playlists that you can control from the Radio Head unit and they must be labeled specifically or they will not work... I think....

While I am not trying to diswade you from this, there are other options....

This is what I did. It provided the IPOD right at my finger tips, though some don't like this arrangement. AND I have power to my IPOD when it is in the cradle....

Look at all your options and do what really feels best for you....and damn anybodys negative comments. It's YOUR car... or will be... :poke:

Welcome to the Forum and you will love the Zed. I have a 2004 2.5i and love it as well. By the way I have no problems listening to Audio CDs that I did using Nero. :)

And ShipKiller if you read this, did you put the aux in by pulling the air vent off in the prescribed way? I am having one heck of a time getting it done, with my old eyes and hands.

When I installed my Dension gateway, I did not remove the grills, I found it much easier to remove the panel just below the heating controls and reach up to the back of the stereo, it did help I had a pic of the back of the stereo, as you are doing it all by feel , and you dont want to just unplug everything., but it was dead easy.

Yes I did.

I needed to use a long VERY thin screwdriver and it was though getting the right angle to catch the clip.

I used a scribe that had a small bend on the end of it to catch the clips. Worked like a charm. Be careful when sliding the unit back in.

Well...the deal didnt go through. We offered $21,000 (KBB is roughly $20,700), but he wanted all of it at that moment.
We're gonna hit him up in August time frame about it. He probably won't have sold it by then. He's not advertisinvg, I only know about it since he is my jROTC Commander.
