2003 2.5i Door sounds - drivers door sounds rough

My passenger door has that BMW quality sound to it when you close it, however my drivers door sounds like an old Eastern European car from the soviet block. Does anyone else have this issue or know what the cause of it may be?

tbh they clunk, or mine does anyway, i assume due to lacking a solid roof so it's what you would expect but i could be wrong, my old Xr3i Cabrio was the same, i'm sure i read some artical review somewhere about the noise of the door on the Z4 but i can't remember where from

unless your door has dropped slightly?
 
The facelift z4 has extra sound deadening materials to give the doors a nice clunk instead of a tinny rattle on closing, maybe somebody has retro fitted it to one door only?

My drivers door rattles too if I shut it to hard, so I just close it softly, I read somewhere that it's to do with the window channels becoming loose inside the door ??.
