2003 2.5 MOT and oil change

Hi All,

Looking to get my MOT done next week, and would like to get an oil change at the same time as its been a year since the last change (about 7000mile) next service is an oil service indicated about 11k away.

Anyways, a few of my local garages are quoting different oil types to what it says on the castrol and Mobil1 site.

Sites say fully synth 0-30 , the garages i spoke to, one said 5-30 the other said 10-30 ??

What oil should i be requesting the garage put in?

OR am i being a bit pedantic doing an oil change before the service indicator says?

Thank you, looking at the inspection 2 that was carried out 11 months ago (500 miles, not 7000 that i said prev.) it had shell 5-30 put in. So i will see if the local MOT station can replace my oil and filter with 5-30 fully synth :-)

Should i be too bothered what brand they use?
 
Use your favorite brand, just make sure its API SM/CF Acea A3 C3 low saps and low ash and suitable for extended drain intervals
