Hey all,

I am a new member. I read the forum for some time now and just made my account. I have read the newbie guide. I will post pics and signatures whithin the week.

First of all I have to say I love the community

I am an owner of a 2007 Sterling grey Z4 2.0. I got this car as it had a lot of extraw from the previous owner. (M heated seats, xenon, 17 factory rims, 10 speaker etc). However I am a lot dissapointed by the 150hp the engine provides.

I would like to ask. Can I fit a 2.5Si engine in my car? Do I need to do any alterations? Anyone has done smthing like that? Cost? (Or any power up for the 2.0 engine which is good)

Thank you in Advance.

Pics on the way :D

It is possible to turbocharge the 2litre engine, there is a thread on here about it.

Now you are just being mean

Do consider selling or Part exchanging your 2.0 litre for a 3.0i or a 2.5si it will be the best way to get more performance.

I had a 2.0 litre before my 3.0 and enjoyed the smaller engine but it does need to be revved and used in the high rev range to get the best out of it. I used to mostly drive my Zed 2.0 in 2nd 3rd and 4th when out on the back lanes of Northumberland - that way it was fun.

Unless you are a mechanic and have garage equipment I wouldn't start messing about changing engines - Just make the move to a 6 cylinder.

Why dont you give yourself a bit of time with the car. Have you had it long? You could fall in love with her. There all great cars.

It is a great car. I have it 7 months now. However my previous car was a mini cooper works 220 hp. I was used to the power especially on the highway

I am no expert on these things but surely even if you swap for a bigger engine wont the brakes, exhaust and other components be completely different. We are talking here about going from a four pot to a six pot.

As said I would get rid of the 2.0 and start again. Do your homework before parting with the dosh. There is no substitute for a six pot, period
