2.2 mods ?

what mods can I do to my 2.2 I know little about cars but I would like mine to sound a bit louder if theres any exhaust or other mods out there.
What have you done to yours ?
 
For sound you could add the sound generator from the 3.0i. or you could add an after market exhaust- or if you don't mind going non oem a quad exhaust conversion.
 
I fitted a sound gen to mine - sounded great in the cabin.

Didn't bother with an aftermarket exhaust as I was quite happy with the SG noise.
 
I would really like to hear some feedback from people which fitted an LSD to 2.2 Z4.
On a Z3 2.8 (194HP) my friend is constantly complaining over lack of power to properly use his LSD.
 
Sure. I know this road.
I want some proper drifts. OK I need an LSD (1.200 EUR). But before that I would need a super charger (4.000+ EUR). Damn, brakes are no good - 2.000 EUR. I won't go further. Already we're at over 7.000 EUR for a friggin' LSD!! :D :D That road would be cheaper if you replace the car with a 3.0 or M :) So now we're back at the begining -> LSD on 2.2. Does anyone have any experience on that. First hand preferably :)
 
People drift mx5s?? Increase rear tyre pressure and dont have 10" wide rears cant see why i couldn't be fun?? Like you say might just be cheaper to get a bigger engine car if you want more power. The 3.0l with an LSD has no problem braking traction even with the 9.5" wide rears.
 
Well the 2.2 goes insanely sideways even with brand new Conti's 245 in the rear. 2nd gear coming at a cornet at high speed, back off the throttle, tap the break and the rear will step out in a blink of an eye. After I replaced the rear tires with some old rubber fun was even greater. You could do drifts with no problem. But it's difficult to keep the car sideways with no LSD. 'Cos you are "dragging" the outer tire and burning inside one.

Absolutely that's why i fitted the LSD. The 3.ol was the same it would step out but was uncontrollable it either wanted to straighten up or spin round. With the LSD that has all changed. I got an mfactory diff it was £600 and i fitted it myself.
