Looking at that I think it's how it is meant to be. Your middle section I'd different and you already have a cover on the right, but it's smaller.

Hmm, that's what I thought. However there are tabs where clearly some sort of cover should be. I'm not sure if someone has cut the cover to just have the centre stripes as original covers are two pieces not three. I'm gonna get one on eBay anyway and see how it fits

It just looks like something is missing on mine. The picture doesn't show it very well. Good to know I'm not the only one though :driving:
 
Aaron.litw/Jingle might be worth you both looking at 2.0 on autotrader/ebay etc to see if any cars have engine bay shots and see what they have
 
Well as I am bored and had nothing better to do with my time. LOL
I had a look on trader and the later circa 08 plate cars seem to be a bit different to the older stuff. Real OEM confirms it, from 04/07 the 2.0i has a revised inlet manifold.
Long story short Aaron.litw/Jingle with both your cars being 2008 cars this explains the differences under the bonnet and they as they should be, nothing missing.
Better do some proper work now!
 
I never understand the need to berate smaller engines. A 2.0 is a pretty large engine by modern standards, it also has enough power to make it a competent roadster. I do hope people don't take offence when this happens.

I guess at least OP got the photo he was looking for..
