Hi

Am contemplating an ECU remap. Can only find one thread mentioning any post remap benefit from member JustCruzin. For the £250 price from the place mentioned in that thread it seems like a good deal. Wondering if anyone else has had a remap done and any feedback on what to look for / avoid in the way of remappers

Am in the Midlands area if required to drive to a decent remapper although will contemplate a longer round trip for the benefits if worth it

Thanks

Rich

jmo but after remapping 6 or 7 car's previously you will not notice much difference in power with a non turbo 2.0 engine though it may feel more responsive on the throttle
£250 seem,s excessive as well to me & if you do want to go ahead & can be bothered to drive to Lancs i can arrange for a professional remap done by a reputable business for half that figure
The days of paying that much for a simple remap should be long gone as 99% of the companies use the same generic programme
PM me if you want more details of the company i use

I would spend your hard earned cash on something else. I've said in several threads that on an NA engine you'll see little or no gains.

Simply not worth it.

Of course plenty tuners will promise eleventy thousand Bhp and nearly double that in torques. They'll happily rig a dyno too so that you're happy to hand over the contents of your wallet.

You pays yer money...,

Not worth it unless your running forced induction, 10-15bhp if your lucky on the 2.0i and even then the power will be all top end so you wont really notice it much. If you want more overtaking power then buy a bigger engine, if you want to go faster from A to B then improve your driving skills.

Having done it, id not recommend it on the 2.0lt as a MUST DO modification.
You'll get more response by never filling the Petrol Tank past a quarter (think power to weight ratio lol).

There are much better things to spend £250 on for a 2.0. It will never be a fast car, just enjoy it for what it is.

Spend the money on non-runflats or an exhaust mod. These are byfar the best mods you can do to a 2.0. Tyres for the corners, exhaust for the massive grin.
