2.0 CAT NEEDED

Hi,

Hope someone can help!

MOT time and been advised i need a new CAT, not surprised as light has been on a little while - BMW quoting £650 upwards just for the part....

Been told not many available after-market so if anyone could advise on best place to source i'd appreciate it.

You should get the code scanned as it may just be a faulty lambda messing up the mixture... If the car has been running rich for a while though, that could have destroyed the cat.

Try phoning around some Exhaust shops in your area. It looks like the pipe is 50mm but the cat is on a ~45degree angle. You could just get a generic weld-in one for under £200 id say. I remember i had a Magnaflow Sports CAT put on my VX220 with the same diameter pipe, it only cost £120 at mates rates. :)
