Greetings.
1 year on from buying this...http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=70795 I thought I'd do a quick update on my 1st year with the car.
In addition to the mods already listed in the thread above I have added an Intravee with ipod and DAB radio and Gaptech. Also replaced the RTABs because I couldn't see anything in the history to suggest they had been done and added some Turner Motorsport limiters.
Cosmetics included a new rear centre brake light to replace the cracked one and I had the worn drivers seat bolster professionally restored.

Maintenance wise did an interim oil and filter change in the summer. It will be due an Inspection 1 in the spring.
Having run it all year in the last 12 months I decided this year to park it for the Winter. Gave it a clean before covering over.....

Absolutely love this car. :D :D :D
I drove my sons Z4 2.5i and it's a totally different car to that. If you have a Z4 and love it and thinking the man maths add up to ///M then I urge you to go for it. It's just epic. The response, sound of the engine with the hood down, the way it corners, it just never fails to put a smile on my face. You can keep ya flappy paddle, turbo nonsense.

Gonna miss it over the winter. In the meantime for the days when I can't prise the X5 off the missus I bought this as my winter wheels.

Not the most suitable winter transport but hey if it snows I'm staying in and I was just drawn in by the value for money on these. Handle well and quite comfortable.

See ya in the spring..

Gary.

6 months into my ///M i can only echo your thoughts ,my previous 2 Zs were enjoyable , the M is a motoring experience to savour :driving:
Currently wrestling the same thoughts RE Sorn for winter but only from the slant of saving the miles i know i would add to it
I just worry that on a fine sunny winter weekend i will want to take the car out so maybe mothballing the car isn't the way forward for me :?

Love the snug cover - where did that come from please?

Google and find a 10% discount code. PM me if you can't find one and I will check what I used.

Mr Wilks, yea I hear you. Last winter... Heated seats and a big Parker coat on a cold sunny day was awesome with the top down. Not sorn yet but probably will. I love the respect this car demands. You have to be smooth and drive it properly otherwise it makes you look like a learner.. Love it.

Rx8 nice. Thats going to make the winter a fun time. :driving: :D Whats the fuel economy like?

About the same as the z but with less horses. Only going to do about 4-5k a year in it so who cares. £3500 for a 30k mint 07 car. Life too short for boring cars :P

Having owned an RX8 a couple of years ago... it would be the last car I would choose as a winter run around :? But good luck with it I loved mine in the dry... just use all the revs... they love it..!!

Haha, thanks. Yea it's not a sensible choice. Apparently it's recommended you red line it often once warmed.... Great all the way to 9k. :D

Yes use the gears keep the revs high and you will love the car... keep an eye on the oil... the rotary engine does use a fair bit of it...
