Got a Meguires clay kit for my birthday and as it was nice at the weekend i got stuck and washed it,dryed it, clayed it,washed it again, dryed it again, polished it with autoglym, then waxed with Meg's carnauba wax.It looks flippin lovely, too nice to use!!! I don't want to get it dirty now, that's it, I'll never use it again.................................................. :D That'll do it until the pre winter polish & wax. Really pleased with the results.I use a boggo basic Hafords polisher and apply the wax by hand. I don't have a garage so I can't get too anal about the process or the results. For a Saphire Black car ,she looks fantastic. If you haven't tried using a clay bar, it's a piece of pi**.I think the hard top will be coming off at the weekend, need to get topless.

i also clayed my car at the weekend , your right amazing difference and nearly a week later still looks very clean.

People tend to shy away from the clay - don't know why - it's so easy to do. Only pain is having to wash the car twice, but if you have a day with very little to do, 6-8 hours work on your pride and joy is very rewarding.

Just add some Billbery to your collection of products and job done....

I don't bother with a second wash. I use the Chemical Guys product and the lube wipes off just fine so I don't bother re-washing (at the advice of an equally detailing-obsessive mate).

Have looked at clay kits, and stood with them in my hand before ending up putting them back. The effort has always put me off - that I'd probably not have time to do mutiple washes, waxes, clays etc. Always assumed the claying itself would be too time consuming. Am interested in being shown I'm wrong though if there's any good pictures or youtube evidence of how easy it is and how good the result is.

I found this guide, which should help you with the process, I have done this a few times and it really does make a difference, however I do not rinse the car after. I really believe this is one of the true secrets of getting your car looking good and if you follow the guide it is really simple to do and does not take very long at all.

x2 never done a second wash but i do use a lot of QD while claying so the car is soaked in QD.

Tried this for the second time today, and again it drove me mad. Just doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference to me. :headbang:

Had my first clay-time this afternoon. I was surprised how little crap came off on the clay; was expecting it to be quite noticeable. I got bored and ended up only claying the front half and roof.

Then Poorboys Black Hole and waxed. The Blackhole is brilliant at masking the swirls
