1979 Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill Champagne

This is an unusual one but this forum never ceases to surprise me! (In a good way!)

My girlfriends Auntie has given us a bottle of 1979 Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill Champagne, in good condition original box, unopened. She is happy for us to try and sell it.

A quick google search shows various prices/valuations but I do not have a clue, and wondered if anyone on here knows of any places or people that might buy it? eBay doesn't seem like the right place for once!

Any help is much appreciated :driving:
 
Unfortunately with itens like wine for a collector they need to be assured that the wine has been stored on optimum conditions and this is something you won't be able to prove so it may be off and actually worthless really but to someone to look at it and have as s display piece it maybe worth something. A local wine merchants may be able to put you in touch with someone who maybe able to sell or buy it from you. Otherwise you will need to try and locate a five wine auction either online or at an auction house in the country.
 
Give Majestic Wine a call and pick their brains. I bet they will know a customer that would be able to point you in the right direction.
 
Some good points made, it may well be undrinkable!

Tried Majestic wine but not much help, he said they deal mainly in boxes and know companies who purchase privately but in larger quantity.

I read the average sale price is about £500 but as you say, where the hell to sell lol.
 
My mum bought some bottles of champagne from France once and kept them for ages for a special occasion, when that came the champagne was off and had to go down the sink :(

Cheeky! :o So what if I had 5 driving instructors I passed first time!
