1962 Daimler SP250

Remember regularly seeing these on the roads and still do occasionally. If I recall correctly I believe some police forces used them as their weapons of choice. Quirky look about them but in their day quite a machine.

Saw one of these on a car renovation programme couple of weeks ago, it looked a beauty.

Ugly as a box of frogs and very dated styling imho of course (E type, MGB, etc. around same time), but a tremendous engine sound and drive train. 140hp in a 2 seater fibreglass car must have been impressive in the day.

BRC - Yes Met Police had a fleet of them

So odd looking I've grown to really like them. . . .terrific - like seeing three different cars depending on which part you're looking at!

Certainly does 'Take some getting used to'

Never heard one before - sounds wonderful so thanks for posting

:driving:

Back in the late 80's my mate took me along to Maidstone to look at one of these, I was horrified that he'd even thought of buying it, I said it had a miserable look about it and had he banged his head :o
Anyway he didn't buy it, bet he wishes he had done now.
It's grown on me since, I actuall quite like it, sounds nice too
