17 Inch CSL wheels Will they fit?

Hi 👋🏻

I have recently purchased a 2005 E85 3.0i SE.

I like a chunky tyre so 17s seem best suited and I want a flush fitment without spacers ideally

Found some 6Performance DTM in the following specs

Front
17x8 ET25
Rear
17x9 ET22

Will this setup fit? See photos with my tyre options

Anyone else running 17s and what is your setup? Post below 👇🏻

That’s a very aggressive fitment, which I think will be beyond flush at the rear. The 224M only just fits on a non-M E85 and that’s 9” with an et30 offset.

Fronts are likely to rub too.

If you’re not worried about such things and you like the Carlos Fandango look, then go for it.

Thanks. So maybe square setup would be better with the 17x8 ET25?

It’s still too pokey. You’ll need something like mid 30s offset. 17” alloys are definitely ok on 3.0 & 3.0si though, as they were standard on the 3.0Si SE and will clear the brake calipers

Thanks, I have done just curious what others are running for 17s
I suspect most people still on 17s are using the standard 103 'daisies'
I have a set here on a 3.0. Square set up, all 8" width with 225/45s on.
They have a standard offset of 47.
So you would be moving the wheel out by 22mm front and rear.
Given that most people put a maximum of a 15mm spacer on the front with 18x8 alloys which have the same ET47, I think you are going to have clearance issues at the front, unless you reduce the tyre height, which negates your reason for the change.

I would think that looking for 17x8 with an ET around 35ish would be a decent fit.

This is a 17x8 ET34, for reference. Came on the car, and while I've still not driven it, there's no signs of rubbing on the arch liners, or tyres.

Tyres are 235/45R17.

I had a set of E89 wheels on my previous Coupe with 8J x 18 ET29 fronts and they didn't rub so you might just get away with your proposed size for the front but I can't help with the rear as my rears were 8.5J x 18 ET40.

But I did sell a "square" set of 8J x 17 ET29 E89 wheels to a forum member who used them on his E85 track car - no idea if the rears rubbed though!

I'd be going for 8J x 17 with an ET of 30/35 all round. I've read a few times that you get less understeer with a square set up.

There's more space in the rear than the front so the front is the decider.

I've got MV3s so 8" ET 34 on the front and I wouldn't want them another millimetre further out.
