17" alloys for winter tires - suggestions?

I parked my Z4 three weeks ago preparing for winter. However following several sleepless nights I'm now thinking about using the car during winter, and have started looking for wheels. I've decided on 17" due to better handling than 18" on snow and ice, but haven't been able to decide on rims yet.

I think the old M5 wheels ( http://www.automotix.net/images/products/wheels/aly59337u.jpg ) look great, but I concerned they'll look scrawny as 17"? Any ideas?

Frederik, welcome to the forum....
17 inch rims and some good winter tires and you will enjoy your Zed year round....
I have some cheap after market rims I use and they work fine but if I were to replace them I would go with type 105 or 106 rims... 8)

Thanks WLH :driving:

I think the 105's are a bit dull, it's something my dad could put on the 5 series, I'm looking for something a bit faster, but keeping with the clean look. I'll probably go with replicas, as I'll be using them for no more than 3 months a year and they'll be probably be covered with dirt anyways
