150,000 mile e86

Hi all I'm new to the forum but not new to Z4 ownership being the owner of a 3.0si e86 for the past 4 years. During this time I've clocked up 150,000 miles and although everything is working well at the moment I want to ask if there is anything that I should be looking out for in terms of things that may need to be replaced as a precaution/maintenance as the mileage is getting quite high. The car has been regularly maintained and I have no intention of getting rid of it any time soon. Thanks in advance for any feedback, btw I have read about DISA failure is this something that I need to worry about?

Welcome to the forum. Do you have a few pictures of this fine workhorse, that you could share with us. :)

Welcome - it might be worth mentioning maintenance (outside of standard servicing) that you've had done already as I'd be amazed if 150k has been achieved with nothing but a few services and MOTs! Mine is just coming up to 50k and this year had a manual gearbox and diff oil change (preventative), new water pump and thermostat (the pump had started throwing an error), and a window regulator (it died). I've had it for well over seven years and otherwise not much has gone wrong.

Hi M1k3yC

Yes other than routine maintenance I've had new discs all round, new front suspension components, drivers side window regulator and a rebuilt rear diff, and wheel bearings, just wondering what precautionary measures I should be taking, having said that just completed a road trip from Devon to Scotland covering almost 1500 miles without a hiccup

The DISA intake and the electric water pump are I understand the key gotchas..the first could prove fatal , the second inconvenient..

So pre-emptive work on the DISA system I believe is recommended,,how many miles in goal has the car done..you imply you’ve done 150k miles in 4 years yourself?

Didn't think N52 3.0 Si Z4s had a DISA :?
