After many months sat in the garage the 108's finally went in to get refurbished and tarted up for spring, photos below, but i'm super pleased with how they turned out!

Work carried out by Olly @ The Wheel Specialist in Fareham, excellent service and workmanship. First time i have used them but would highly recommend them.

Thanks also to [ref]W63[/ref] and [ref]Calps[/ref] for the inspiration, can we start a bronze shoe crew now?

So far we have:
W63
Calps
idej_z4
Zedebee
Barty
AveZ4coop

If there's anyone else out there who also has bronze rims please share some photos, i have an itch that needs scratching!

Thanks, that’s a good shout actually! Any tried and tested recommendations?
You may get a few recommendations and a lot of people prefer Gtechniq C5. I have used two types of ceramic coating one of them the C5 and two wax. The wax is better in my opinion, is easier to apply and will last for 12 months. This is what I used on the last two cars. https://www.polishangel.co.uk/collections/wheels/products/supersport-ptfe-wheel-wax

Yes! Aargh, where’s a car picture when you need it?

Hi Phippy, they look really good  I like the way you have achieved the two tones with the extra lacquer on the rims.

[ref]hasel5[/ref] afraid not - but if you find one i'd been keen to know how it turns out.

[ref]idej_z4[/ref] they count and look great on a lovely colour zed! I take it its not a standard colour?

[ref]BeeEmm[/ref] thanks, i will take a look into the wax, have plenty of time to decide but it would be a shame to mess them up by not taking the extra step to protect them

[ref]Zedebee[/ref] your'e such a tease :P i can see just enough of the car to make it it's either monoco blue or carbon schwarrts? Would be nice to see a full pic if you find one.

[ref]W63[/ref] cheers mate, they originally had a diamond cut rim which i wanted to try and replicate somehow, feel this was the closed i could get and it really sets the rim off nicely.

Tbf i cant stop looking at them haha

hahaha you must have known i was going to ask!! Looks epic against the dark colour!

Assuming that’s directed at me! Monaco Blue as per signature.

The bizarre thing is the MV1s looked absolutely terrible in silver (to be fair It was a crusty old set I got for for peanuts), but they look really quite good in bronze. In my opinion, of course.

You can add whoever bought Inkey$’s car to your list if they are on the forum. His bronze Bolas got a lot of good comments on here.

Just waiting to see your 108s on the car now. I have a set in the garage I’m wondering what to do with.

They look sublime Phippy, they did an excellent job. Looking forward to some pics of them on the car.

And delighted to be an honorary member of the Brown Shoe Crew! When do our t-shirts arrive????

Here's a recent pic of my shoes, now with the centre caps switched out.

It was, not sure the signatures show up when your in post mode as i did check to see! It would be good to know who has got Inkey$ Bolas - after a quick search i do agree they look great!! ( here's the link for anyone interested: https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=125819&start=120 )

[ref]Calps[/ref] Yours look epic, especially with the Aero side skirts, makes me moist..... mine are going in to the body shop next week and now i cant wait to see the final result!!

Hi, I have an extra set of 108’s which I bought to get refurbished, I wanted anthracite centres and diamond edge to the outer rim. Can I ask what sort of cost do you think the wheel specialist would charge they of course would need to be split. I have a quote from Lepsons but Fareham is closer to me as I live in Worthing.

Hi John, I paid a little over £600, but then i chose the wheel specialist based on their reviews rather than price, also come with a 12 month guarantee. Based on various searches it seems you can pay anywhere from £200 and up, but i suspect you get what you pay for.
It might cost you less if you are just getting the rim diamond cut rather than powder coated and lacquered, but you should give them a call and see what they say.

I would add that i split the rims myself, wasn't as hard a job as it's made out to be. I have a long torque wrench (about 2ft long) and just took it slow, working on alternate sides, not a single bolt caused an issue. Apparently its about £3 a bolt if they need to supply them so would recommend giving it a go, even if you get 3 out of 4 apart it's going to save you some ££.
There is some good advice on here if some are stuck in, but you might be as lucky as i was!

Hi and thank you for the reply. Lepsons quoted just over £600 but they are a fair distance from Worthing and Fareham would be easier to get to. I have two sets of 108’s the ones on the car are okay but look to have been refurbished without splitting so I was thinking of having a go myself once I get the other set done. My concern would be putting them back together as I’m not sure if the bolts need to be torqued or just tightened.
The copper finish looks great but I’m not sure if I prefer it over anthracite, it’s hard to tell without seeing in the flesh.

Got a set of bronze CSL reps waiting to go on… originally intended for the white Z4, but reckon it could work very well with the dark green too 8)
