Just thought I would share my experience with you all having recently had my 108s refurbished. The wheels looked pretty poor, usual corrosion and few kerb marks. Nothing too serious though. No pre refurb photos I am afraid.
I took the wheels to a local firm, Wheel Em In, http://wheelemin.co.uk (I am no way affiliated, just a satisfied customer).
Cost per alloy was £54 on the basis I delivered the rims pre split and put them back together again myself.
Although they offer diamond cutting option I opted for powder coated as this came with longer guarantee. I cannot remember the differing shades they used for the inners and the outer rim.
Splitting the rims myself was reasonably straight forward. As these are my summer set, they were in the garage and I could give each bolt several WD40 applications over a weekend to really work into the grime. Following this each bolt came out quite easily. Problems started on reassembling where on several bolts holes the thread was stripped, partly due to errors on my part over torquing and partly I think some failed when undoing the bolts initially. Absolutely gutted I scraped the alloys in couple of places while assembling which was purely down to carelessness. Not snapped bolts in the process so could reuse all.
Anyway, well happy with the results. No wax to clean up the tyres and yes the brake callipers need doing and roundels need renewing before anyone says anything. Pictures are not the best off the phone but hopefully this useful to anyone in the area that wants to alloys redone.
