107's are on!

Great wheels OP - I really like the 107s, but I think Coupes only had them on SE models and I would miss the Sport seats!

I wasn't a fan of 108s (so was pleased my first coupe had 135Ms) but my blue one has 108s that were refurbished not too long ago and I'm really starting to like them (luckily)!

It's just a personal opinion but I think the 108s work better on Coupes, and the 107s on Roadsters. :thumbsup:
 
I think I must be the only one that doesn't like the 107 then? To me it looks really dated and clunky/heavy, plus you can't see much brake through it. The 108s on the other hand when refurbed look far more modern and sporty to me!

Its like the coupe/roadster and numerous other debates on here, we are never going to all agree. I guess that's what makes a market. For me personally I have never been a fan of split rim wheels in general so I was never likely to want the 108's. My dislike of split rims has been further compounded over the years by all those cheap replica fake split rim wheels out there, they look awful.

Do agree you see more brakes with the 108's. But its not like these cars are running some nice 4/6 pots (ala porsche) so its not a biggie for me for our rather humdrum brakes to be more obscured.

I don't like 107s either but they are a break from the norm. I like a good 5 spoke and the 108 is well executed with a nice slightly concave profile.

Oh completely, it's all personal opinion.
I think the 108s are pretty subtle for split rims as like you I don't normally like them as they usually look tacky.

I actually like the design of the 108's, apart from the bolts around the edge, which I think looks dated.

After Zedfest and seeing them all in one place the 107s are now my favourite standard Z wheel

I used to really like the 108s but gone off them unless they have been refurbed in a more modern colour they really do look dated... Still like the mv2s but after living with them a couple of months they are an absolute bugger to keep clean

Anyhow you definitely transformed the car for the better :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I'll be honest wasn't really a fan of them at all until the first time I saw yours last year but they have definitely grown on me more and more

Would have looked well on your silver roadster but not sure for you Si. It looks well as it stands.
 
They got it right with the 107's, love em on the Z, my set is on the 320 at the moment as I bought them with almost new Pirelli tyres just after I put Eagle F1's on the Z :x DOH
 
The ellipsoid is such a great match for E85 & E86 although IMO unsuited to almost every other BMW model ( barring Z3 )
Up close with firebobby's & stuartt's roady's at Zfest which were both sporting the ellipsoid wheels in different colours but both looked bang on to me :driving:
Also hard to forget from my early days here on the forum a pic of "tomTVR"s coupe with 107s on :) works for me but I appreciate its totally love V hate hate V love with both wheel & the PY paint

They look great! I think the 107 is very well suited to the E85 Z4; wish I had a set myself. I've just replaced my 108s with a set of CSL reps from VMR in the US. I think that the 107, 108 or any decent CSL rep looks great on the car - and a change from your current wheel can really refresh the look. To that point, my 108s are carefully stored in case I want to clean them up and reinstall theme for a change in the future.

Well remembered- I was trying to remember who it was that had the other PY coup at that time, monsterz4 had his on 108s and couldn't remember whose had the 107s!
 
They look great Ducklake :thumbsup: much better than the 108's I will be putting my shadowchrome ones
on in a couple of months for the winter, they are the best looking oem wheel for the roadster imo
