100k on my 2008 what mechanical work should I do

As above really my 2008 2.5 is just about to roll over to 100k, got some spare cash and was wondering what preventative work would you suggest. I am thinking about-

New bushes front and back
Shocks/ springs all round
Diff couplings replaced

Does this sound about right and anything else you would suggest, also any recommendations for places near Burton to carry out the work

I would say your on the right lines with bushes as they wear with age and or use.

I had to replace the front shocks at c130,000.

My clutch and flywheel are fine, have it serviced and they will tell you what your car needs, I don't think it's a case of get to X miles and replace Y.

Imagine a rent a lap car doing 100,000 miles, it will probably have seen many clutches, gearboxes and possibly engines. My car has a very easy life :thumbsup:
 
also worth checking the solid brake lines.. especially where they tuck up over the diff mounting..
 
Why would you change parts just because its done 100,000 miles? the car has a MOT and service every 12 months, if any parts have a mechanical problem then they will be highlighted at that point.

To change parts for the fun of it is a waste of time and money.

Re why change some parts, just a bit of preventative work really there is very slight play in the suspension arm so that will need doing at some point, I have a little cash available and thought why wait for something to break may as well get the bits done and in the long run will be cheaper on labour as it's cost effective to change all the suspension and bushes in one go, the car has been very reliable and I want to try and keep it that way lol

Needs a little bit of paint work was well

Do people know of anywhere local to Burton or derby
 
Theres nothing wrong with preventative measures and it certainly isn't a waste of time and money. A year is plenty of time for issues to start and work themselves into bigger and more expensive repairs. I would do exactly the same :thumbsup:

Clutch judder could be a sign of wear and a clutch does well to last 100k but it may just need adjusting but they are self adjusting so could mean its on its way. Clutch judder is a BMW problem, but not so much on the Z. 1 series are renowned for it, I had the problem on my 320SI at 30k had the clutch and flywheel replaced, seen so tho they are both in the same place and a pain to swap you might as well have them done at the same time. Its not cheap tho, would have it diagnosed first :thumbsup:
