i just cant get away with those rear arches! looks like a Chop Shop car :( i normally love a bit wide hip action, 997 c2s and audi rs4 have fat arches of almost comical proportions but are both great lookers. 1 series m? no thanks

If I was in a position/wanted to change at the moment, my order would be in! Shame it isn't being produced for a couple more years as that may have been my next car! :(

Mind you, I'd miss the folding roof!

From what I've read BMW have been quite surprised by how quickly these things are selling. I would love one.

The talk of the CSL, or rather BMW not ruling one out, is interesting and it has already been suggested that this could be the performance car of the year.

Just quoting for prosperity ... Breaker publically admitting he wants an M :D

actually having seen two on the road, this in my opinion is one car that looks better in the pictures than in the metal :?

Funny thing is I don't mind the hatchback and it's a shame there's no option of the 35i and M in that shape.

I just think the 1 coupe/convertible looks like a 3 series that's been squashed making it out of proportion.

I'm exactly the same. I can totally get onboard with the 3 door hatchback but I just can't come round to the 1-series coupe. I've had a 1-series courtesy car in the past and would say that the interior build quality isn't quite that of the Zed.

:P Not the performance or M car that interests me, I just like the look of the car! :D

Would also mean I could sell my second car as I would then have 4 seats.

Not going to happen though! Not finished with the E89 just yet!

Saw one in m local dealers today and it looked - well 'OK'. Muscular haunches and aggressive grille, quad exhaust and not bad in black, real problem was inc. accessories it was £45,000

That's having a laugh for a tiny average looking saloon

How much does an Alpina B3 Coupe go for in the UK? Seems it would be a better way to go...

I still don't really look the look of the 1-series coupe. I would rather put the money on a used M3 Saloon with M-DCT.

But it had received excellent verdicts from many motoring journalists. It must be great to drive. Used prices will remain high. It can become another classic BMW for collectors, like M3 E30.

Saw a 2008 M3 with all the extras and DCT at the stealers and am seriously tempted at £36k

Dealer phoned today offering me a test drive in a 1M. May take them up on that! :D
I got a similar phone call too, after registering my interest some time ago.

Went to the dealership (70 mile round trip) and all they wanted to do was push me onto a salesman, who simply told me that he didn't have a brochure, that these "sell themselves really", and "did I want to work out some payment options" :headbang:

When I asked about seeing the car, driving it, or actually even sitting in it, I was told that they didn't have one available for demo and that they didn't even have one on display in any of their group showrooms. :headbang:

Cue a quick about-turn and cross another dealer off my 'trusted' list :headbang:
