Me and the Mrs are taking the Z4 on a euro trip at the end of May! Something I've always wanted to do so we cant wait now.

Route looks a bit like this:

Nurburgring
Heidelberg
Davos (stelvio)
Bormio (south side of Stelvio)
Lake Garda
Innsbruck
Nurburgring (possibly)
Amsterdam

Going for 12 nights (4 at garda) plus the Hull/Rotterdam which is another two nights on top really. In preperation I've fitted an Aux in for the iphone/ipod and getting some cup holders ordered next week. Really looking forward to giving the girl a proper run out :D Trip should be around 1800 miles in total. The biggest challenge will be fitting everything in the car (wifes clothes especially!) Also keeping a nervous eye on the Stelvio webcams as its currently sat under 6 foot of snow!

Fingers crossed it will be open.

Got this years route planned, and just in the process of booking the hotels. We're off in July :)

I want to do something like this over the summer so will look forward to your experiences.
 
Road Trip - just spent half an hour reading through your adventure. Great write up!

Things like meeting the 599 just make these trips. Did you purchase a european disc for the sat nav or was that standard?
 
Road Trip - Brilliant write up. I wil endevour to do a similar one when I get get back . One thing I have just ordered from ebay is a collapseable bucket so I can wash the car when we get to Garda! Couldnt bear the car being too mucky lol.

Our trip looks to be less intensive on the driving side. This was partly due to my Mrs not wanting to be travelling all the time but also I think I would tire with so much daily mileage. I think the biggest drives we have are about 4 hours (rotterdam to the ring and then midway back from Innbruck to amsterdam.

I'm already planning the next trip. I'd like to head east and go through Poland to Russia but we will have to see how the Mrs gets on with this trip. Your pics have really wetted my appetite to get going now. The Alpine passes will probably be the highlight for me in terms of scenery and driving roads.
