09-13 Side Indicators Blackout

Hi all,

First post on here as I've just bought a 2010 23i M Sport in black (interior & exterior), and I'm already building a strong list of thing to on it titled "Does it come in black", can you guess the theme?

One thing on the list is either replacing or spraying the side indicators to be as close to black as possible and to still function. I know I can get the 2013+ style indicators in black but I'm a little reluctant to spend £150 on them (but I will if I have too  ).

Has anyone got any images/advise/product recommendations for blacking out 09-13 indicators or are there any already blackout 09-13 lens on the market?

Cheers!

I think he means blacking out the older style white blob indicators.

OP you could apply a black tint to darken them, not sure how dark you can make them before it is deemed not legal though. Similarly in another forum someone with a yellow car painted the facing side of the indicator in a solid yellow leaving only one side original to the light shine out. Again not sure if this would be deemed road legal.

Thanks! I didn't think of that, I'll give that a go and if I get called out on it, I'll just have to suck it up and buy the new style.

Thought I'd show you the end result... pretty pleased with it!

So what was opal on the main side is just black and no light passes through, but when I sprayed it, I masked off the clear lens section at the back so that obviously allows light to pass through.
