08: 2008 front bumper cover (clear bra cover)

Hey all, i am new to this forum - but just purchase an alpine white nov 2008 z4 m coupe. I have been told about these clear covers that you can get for the lower front bumper ?? Does any one know their cost? Their quality and worth and who sells them?

I don't think the BMW OEM ones are available in the UK, so you'll have to contact one of the aftermarket companies to discuss.

The 'big 4' that I've heard of are:
Ventureshield
Paintshield (this is what I had on mine for about 18 months)
XPEL
Lamin-X

The other options are:
Foliatec
DIY with 3M Scotchguard film

However, be careful of who you pick to install it, as some are just buying the film and fitting it without knowing what they're doing. Paintshield is one I know who fit it themselves. Some films are 'cut' on the car from a roll/sheet of film, some come as ready-made cut-to-pattern sheets that fit on each panel.

Just a few points - how did you find it when on your car? Approx how much did it cost to get it fitted. The Paintshield was the site that I looked at but I am based in Norther Ireland so i guess i would have to fit it myself ?
 
I found a 3M supplier on ebay and installed it myself on my Alpine White 2004 Z4. It was somewhat tricky and time consuming but I don't regret doing it myself. After I posted my story (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1497449&highlight=clear+bra), someone answered and implied that the 3M film tends to turn yellow over time. So you may want to research that aspect more. So far I have not seen a problem, but it may be too early to tell. The full kit (hood, bumper, fenders, lights) cost me $195 US.
 
I liked the protection it gave from everyday dirt, chips, bird lime, etc. but you still have to be on top of getting any bird lime off as soon as possible.

Mine cost about £700 to get the bumper, bonnet, mirrors & wings, but that did include a call out charge for them to come to me, rather than me driving to their workshop.

The reason I removed mine was that it just didn't respond to detailing as well as the rest of the car, so no matter how much time you spent you'd still end up with half the car looking slightly less shiny than the paintwork.
