'03 z4 3.0 What to Look For

I hope this is the right place for this. Going to see the above on Monday. It looks clean from the photos, nothing outrageous in the MOT history. It's got 141K on the clock. What should I be checking before I chuck my money at the bloke? :D

Have a look on here there are plenty of guides to highlight common issues

At 141k you’d hope that there is history of a load of areas that will wear out on an 18 year old car

Deffo take it for a drive, watch and listen for oddities over bumps etc.

The engine is a good one but the weak points are water pump, DISA valve which are all searchable on here

Got an advert or reg number- the best indicator now of a cars provenance is it’s mot history?

Welcome though- it’s a good forum here!

Good looking car- right number of cylinders and 3 litre…

Spec looks good too

Check the service history though

Check for oil leaks.
Ask dealer/seller if you can put a code reader on it to check for any fault codes.
Mine threw up a few on inspection. All solvable issues I thought but I I turned it into a haggling point and haggled a nice discount from the seller.

Looks like it sold, did you buy it.
Why do people call these convertibles, they were designed to be a roadster. It wasn't converted from a coupe or saloon?

Convertible doesn't mean converted from a coupe, it means a car with a folding roof that converts from closed to open top and vice versa. Roadster is the American version, no one has ever commented that I have a roadster, always a convertible.

You will find that they are mainly referred to as roadsters on here.
