Inspection 2 service - Any suggestions in Hertfordshire??

Want to get my inspection 2 service done and want to know if anyone has used a good garage in Herfordshire area. I am in Stevenage but don't mind anywhere in Hertfordshire.

BMW dealer in Stevenage want about £800 which I think is not bad and have had good experience with them for other bits, but everytime I go there I have bill no less than £300.

Other suggestions are really welcome, the car is not due it's inspection 2 but I only got the car 24/12/13 and want to give it a good going over, as I am thinking of doing an stage 1 remap.

I did look at them and there price for inspection 2 looked very cheap. Be good to know if anyone has used them. I have also heard that prestige performance in St. Albans is very good.

Darjac racing has got lots of good reviews, il probably be taking mine there when my i2 is due in about 5k.

My MR's due an inspection 2 in 2000 miles. I suspect I will use A1 again. I knocked a few £££ last time by agreeing a "supply your own oil price" which they were fine about, unlike Specialist Cars who, ( a couple of years ago) told me I couldn't do that till I pointed out that they had been happy to do that with my other car a month previously!


I won't use Specialist Cars Stevenage due to previous issues there (not oil related ).

I emailed Deutsch tech in Milton Keynes, enquiring about service 2 or what they recommend for what I am looking for. I got a call back a a day after from an extremely helpful guy, who really knew his stuff and very informative. Really had an interest in the car and was almost not fussed if I used them, but still have up his time on the phone and made sure I understood everything.

Explained the while process, offered courtesy car and everything. Only £450 for inspection 2 including vavle realignment.

I am definitely going to try these guys, and they seem to really know there stuff.

Have a look a there website, another member used them recently and he was over the moon.

I have used specialist cars up till now on all my BMWs and have been happy, and you can't knock their customer service, but I just feel there is a level of distance between me and the actual mechanic, and you only ever speak to the service desk.

Fancy a change and really want the car properly checked before upgrades for the summer.

Give BMW Borehamwood a call. Only 20 mins from you and they may undercut Stevenage's quote to gain you as a customer.

Upgrades sounds interesting, what do you have planned?

I'm in Beds, not too far away! We will have to arrange a meet when the weather gets a little better?

Oh yeah I have good things about evolve.

Mine Z4M is blue, I think I heard a sliver Z4 a couple of weeks back.

Other that never see another Z4M, I am finding non M Z4's never say hello or flash, I am hoping M owners are a little more friendly.
