New 4D carbon fiber vinyl?

I posted this on another Z4 forum but thought I'd post it here, too, since the 4D film seems more known in Europe and hasn't hit mainstream in North America.

I was looking for some info on the 3M 1080 carbon fiber film and came across this newest 4D carbon fiber vinyl film (not made by 3M). It's said to look and reflect like real wet carbon fiber and doesn't have that "dry" look with the 3M di-noc or 1080.

Does anyone have any experience with it? I have no problem admitting that I couldn't care less about the weight loss from real CF, and if this 4D CF film looks decent in person, I just might wrap my roof with this.

Hmmm I am considering some kind of tasteful interior carbon wrap to replace my yucky grey aluminium dash, this does look like an improvement!

Yes, its very quick and cheap way to freshen up the interior, I have done mine a couple of times.

Also have a look at hydrographic as another option

I've tried 4d carbon, it's looks better than 3m stuff, some people have mistaken for a real carbon

I think it looks really good. There are a few pieces I'd do on the car - roof and lower centre sections on front and rear bumpers.

I contacted R-design and the 4D film is made by Vvivid Vinyl. They're a company based in Montreal, Canada. I'm planning on buying some 4D CF film amd have a pro install shop install the film for me and see how it works out.

GP20, long time no see

Exactly what i was thinking.

Where you been hiding?

Surprised anyone here still remembers me lol. Overall, I haven't spent that much time on the Z4 forums anymore. I do lurk sometimes but simply don't post very often anymore.

After doing some more research on the 4D CF film, I'm less convinced that it'll look like real carbon fiber. Maybe just a small step above the 3M 1080. I did buy some samples, and I'll update once I get the samples.

Here's another CF film made by Arlon that might look a bit more like real CF but it's hard to find a place that sells it (to the general public).

im always a bit dubious of the "real carbon fibre" claims anyway. the DI-NOC stuff is nice but you can tell its stuck on. these pics look really good but i would have to see it to make my mind up.
